Otsego Pride Alliance is proud to offer The Kota Flood Memorial Scholarship opportunity to students in hopes to help with their educational dreams. Students should self identify as members of the LGBTQ community, be between the ages of 16-21, and be entering their first year of continuing education in college, trade school or certificate program. Students should be residents of Otsego County NY.

My mother sent me a link to this scholarship, and I’m very glad that she did, I had a lot to talk about on this issue, mostly stemming from my own personal experiences. I’m very thankful for this scholarship, and I will use it to further my education.

My school counselor sent out this scholarship and recommend I apply, and I am so glad I did. I will use this scholarship to attend Rochester Institute of Technology and major in American Sign Language Interpreting.

I first heard about the Kota Flood Memorial Scholarship through my guidance counselor at my high school. Afterwards, I decided to apply as I have been a quiet part of the LGBTQIA+ community since I was young. When I learned that I had received the scholarship, I was overwhelmed with emotions. It is such an honor and privilege to be the recipient, and I am so beyond thankful. I plan on using the scholarship to earn my degree in Nursing, where I hope to dedicate my life to helping others in need.
